His name is well-known due to his role as a legal counsel for the actor sueing over his contract with Sony Pictures. After being on the show, he discussed his weight loss plan and revealed that he stuck to it despite his fame. He made it clear that he is not just concerned with losing weight, but also about eating healthy. He claimed that he is a fan of the Atkins Diet and the Lemonade Diet.

Chaz Bono estimates that he lost about half his excess weight just by using this diet. He has since went on to lose an additional fifty pounds.

After his weight loss surgery, Chaz Bono had a follow up procedure and this time he went with the Lose Skin Losing Diet. This diet is another low carbohydrate diet plan, but unlike the Atkins Diet, the Lose Skin Diet is geared more towards people who are looking to get rid of some extra fat. Chaz Bono used this diet because of the results he got with the first one. However, he admitted that he did experience some side effects and that these side effects made him less inclined to continue with the program. The doctor who prescribed the diet prescribed him Permeability Factors, or a chemical that aids the digestion of food.

Chaz explained what the Permeability Factors is and how they are linked to losing weight. First, he told me, "My doctor gave me this Permeability Factor formula and I saw that it was something that was very similar to the Atkins Diet. It just took a little bit of practice to figure out how much of the product to take." After his weight loss surgery, he continued to take one part of the formula every day. However, he did not continue with the diet for long, because he felt as if he were still taking too much.

Chaz explained to me that one of the keys to his success was that he did walk quite a bit. As we talked more, it became apparent that walking is a great exercise, not only for losing weight, but for building up stamina and strength. He also told me that he likes to jog and run often as well. I have been a runner for over fifteen years now and I must say that he is right.

He also has great stamina, which is a result of eating a high fiber diet and exercising regularly.
